In purpose of advancing globalization and promoting international cultural exchange of Jiangsu University , in June 1th 2012 ,

the institute of Life Sciences organized the cultural exchanges meeting entitled " upgrade, learning and understanding ".
The cultural exchanges meeting has been chaired by the Secretary Zhu, inviting three foreign students from the Overseas

Education College . These three students are Daniel from Austria, Nan Ma Yuko from Japanese SanChong University

and Li Weizhen from LingNan University in Korea. Nan Ma Yuko was the first prize winner of "The first Chinese Bridge

of Jiangsu University " , and Daniel won the talent first prize. The cultural exchanges meeting started from the Chinese silk

culture, through the introduction of the beautiful Jiangsu Province, and finally to the Three Kingdoms culture -Nanyang.

Accordingly , the three foreign students done an excellent introduction to their own countries. Nan Ma Yuko

gave us the presentation “Let us go to Japan”, providing us a perfect design to travel to Japan. Austria’s Daniel told

something about local food and rural culture of Austria, leading us to feel the two major cities in Austria: Vienna and

Salzburg. Finally, LiWeizhen introducted the culture in Korea, giving us a general understanding of Korean culture.

For the last part, the cultural exchanges meeting focused on the major cultural differences between China and Japan,

South Korea and Austria. Through discussion , Chinese and Western cultures had a good collision which promoted

cultural understanding between countries and strengthened cultural exchanges.
